In essence, Yammer is a Twitter clone (well, not really I guess) optimized for more effecient internal enterprise communication. On Twitter, you’re asked the question “What are you doing?”, on Yammer the question is “What are you working on?.

It launched at TechCrunch50 (which the video above reveals) and they also actually managed to win. I haven’t seen all the presentations from TC50 but still a fair bunch and Yammer was maybe not necessarily the startup I was most impressed with but surely the one I thought would add the most amount of value to my daily life. Ultimately, that’s what it’s all about and those are the kind of services you obviously will stick with.

Lastly, the most significant differentiator from Twitter is that Yammer actually has a business model. True story.
