SEARCHME

Searchme is a new search engine venture funded by venture capital firm Sequoia Capital.

This search engine is quite different from all the existing ones most of us use today.

When providing it with a search term, you are first presented with several categories where this term could be relevant, after choosing one of the categories the search results are presented to you as actual website screenshots with the search term you initially entered highlighted.

Doesn’t the graphical interface of the websites presentation look a lot like Cover Flow?

In my opinion, visually, this looks pretty neat. Although, I wouldn’t use it solely because of its visually gratifying experience. In terms of capacity, it’s kind of hard to compete with Google.

My partner in crime over at Rebtel, David Thulin, is just as big of an Apple fanboy as myself. Maybe even bigger? It feels very good to have somebody around the office (at least two days a week) that for one is very good at what he does, and two, gets new Apple stuff seconds after Steve Jobs announces them. That’s my kind of guy.On the picture above you can view his latest acquisition, the Macbook Air. He’s very happy with it.I don’t blame him.
